ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES
JUNE 12, 2003
7:00 P.M. Called meeting to order. Present: Ellen Abelson, Paula Keefe, Richard
Gorden and Mark Mazur
The Board reviewed and approved as amended, the minutes to our 5/22/03 meeting.
The Board reviewed again, an application for abatement of a motor vehicle excise,
filed by R. Braccia. The Board decided to give him at least a month to reply, before
we act on his application.
The Board re-read a letter from Richard Morse concerning the sale of part of his
classified land. He is unable to produce recorded copies of his deed and plan. He
would like us to compute his roll back taxes using unrecorded copies and an affidavit
from the registry. We have been advised by an attorney from the state, with expertise in such matters, that the affidavits should be sufficient documentation for us.
The Board was told that we need to upgrade our computer hardware. The
Administrative Assessor showed the Board a bid for a new server and related equipment. The Board will think about the issue and decide it at a future meeting.
The Board signed a notice verifying that the Town had decided to increase exemption
amounts up to 100% for fiscal year 2004. The notice will be sent to the state.
The Board signed a form listing roll back taxes as well as omitted and revised
assessments for fiscal year 2003. The form will be sent to the state.
